Description
KFR is the main musical project of the artist Maxime Taccardi which he describes as the sonic translation of his paintings.
It takes the shape of a vile and nightmarish Black Metal coupled with unsettling dark ambience.
Since its creation, K.F.R has always been a way for Maxime Taccardi to put in sound what his paintings are about, what they have to say. A form of black metal completely freed of conventions and codes inherent to the style without forgetting the influence of the french scene.
Pain/Ter is probably his most personal record both lyrically and musically. It deals with how he perceives Total Art, in the sense of Wagner (Gesamtkunstwerk) and his relation to pain and the Devil. The best way to listen to this album would be while staring at the cover and letting the smell of blood engulfing the room in total darkness to achieve some sort of synesthesia.
Some parts of the album were recorded using frequencies known to cause anxiety, fear and distress. There is nothing pleasant here, nothing enjoyable for the sake of it. Black Metal is for him the quintessence of the true evil that lies within us all.
He filmed and directed three videos by himself illustrating "The Serpent's Kiss" , "Retrograde" and "The Queen of Diseases" which he considers being short films. Cinema has always been a passion of him and he intends to go further with a full experimental movie one day.
