Description
In June 1981, Oslo-based band The Cut released their debut album Shadow Talks.
The album was produced and mixed by British music industry legend John Beckie.
The albums cutting edge, heavily electronic-oriented post-punk sound inspired and influenced a generation of musicians who came of age in the 1980's or later, working with electronic music, acid jazz, hip hop and so on.
When the original tapes were discovered and digitized back in 2020, we decided to hand the files over to some of them. Some Like it Cut is the result, an innovative, fresh and also weirdly nostalgic record. Included is the
band's first foray into the world of dub/remixing, an alternative/experimental version of the album track Success, done by John Beckie and The Cut and released as a B-side the single I Wish it Was Simple.
