Her debut album 'Boomania' followed in 1990 peaking at # 4 in the UK album charts and achieved platinum status of 300,000 sales. In 1991 Betty Boo won a Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act.

    Description

Betty Boo releases two reissues of her highly acclaimed albums, Boomania andGrrr! It'sBettyBoo.

BettyBooaka Alison Clarkson has always done things differently. She was a blast of fresh air when she burst into the charts with a string of hits in the late eighties/early 90's. Both her look and her vocal style were unique, a total sidestep from that era's mainstream which was best represented by the long line of bubbly singers on the SAW production line. Her style was sharp cut and retro, owing more to London's vibrant club scene than it did to the latest graduate of The Hit Factory.

In 1991, she won Best British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards. Her face graced the cover of Smash Hits, No 1 and NME. She was the pop star's pop star.

Betty Boo's debut album 'Boomania' was released in 1990 and peaked at #4 in the UK album charts, achieving platinum status of 300,000 sales. The album features 4 UK hits, Hey DJ / I Can't Dance (To That Music You're Playing), Doin' The Do, Where Are You Baby? And 24 Hours. Following the release of the album, in 1991 Betty Boo won a Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act.
