  • Description

First Ron Lasalle album in 10 years - Ron LaSalle was long ago tagged "The Bohemian Blues Man" for his eclectic blend of soulful poetics, musical honesty, and tobacco-cured vocals.

No stranger to the business, LaSalle was one of the forerunners in what is now the Americana roots rock scene when, in 1995, he co-founded D'Ville Records with Garry Tallent and Tim Coats. The trio mined what LaSalle calls "the other side of Nashville" and helped boost the careers of such notables as Greg Trooper, Steve Conn, and the Floating Men.

In ten years of touring together Ron LaSalle and The East Side Rockers averaged 300 shows in 300 cities a year throughout the U.S. and Canada. SRO crowds became the norm for this native of Niagara Falls, NY, but, at the height of his success, Ron decided to take a break from the road to move to Toronto, Canada, learn more about the business side, and concentrate on his writing. There, LaSalle released his first single Only the Strong Survive on SBK records.

While living Nashville, TN, as a writer for EMI publishing, Ron wrote and recorded with some of the world's finest writers and musicians such as Garry Tallent and Max Weinberg of Springsteen's E Street band, Alto Reed (Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band), Bucky Baxter (Steve Earle, Bob Dylan), and George Marinelli (Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby). He has also licensed numerous songs for use in films like Jeff Daniels' Super Sucker.
