Description
Remastered versions of the two Wintergarden albums, "Wintergarden" and "The Land of Milk and Honey," available on CD and digitally for the first time in 46 years - former members of the cult band Nine Days Wonder in a new, high-quality project , stylistic reorientation: singer-songwriter sound with US West Coast influences - inspired by Pablo Cruise, Seals & Crofts, Eagles - The debut album "Wintergarden" was produced by Walter Quintus (Rolf and Joachim Kuhn, Udo Lindenberg, Gary Moore, Jack Bruce, and many more) plenty of bonus material (outtakes, demos, alternate versions) selected and edited by Walter Seyffer, including tracks from the final album "III" for collectors, music historians, and fans of the late '70s West Coast sound.
In 1979, Nine Days Wonder finally called it quits. NDW frontman Walter Seyffer and NDW guitarist Bernd Unger joined forces as the duo Wintergarden and signed a record deal with the progressive-oriented Harvest label, a division of EMI in Cologne. Musically, the two had moved far away from their Krautrock past and turned instead to the singer-songwriter genre. In terms of sound, they drew inspiration primarily from American bands such as Pablo Cruise, Seals & Crofts, and the Eagles. The production quality of their albums was impressive.
Walter Quintus from Bremen, who also collaborated with Udo Lindenberg, Gary Moore, Jack Bruce, and especially Rolf and Joachim Kuhn, produced their self-titled debut album in 1979. The album met all of the record label's commercial sales expectations. Wintergarden appeared on German television stations and performed on shows like "Rockpop" (ZDF). In 1980, Harvest released the follow-up album "In The Land Of Milk And Honey," but then the Neue Deutsche Welle took over the charts and dominated the German music scene from that point on. The paths of the Seyffer/Unger duo diverged, and the album "III" marked the end of the line. Now, after 46 (!) years, the two Harvest albums are available on CD for the first time--and thus also digitally. In addition, there is a wealth of bonus material from the Harvest years, including outtakes and demos.
