Description
The debut EP from brand new and hotly tipped Cornwall four-piece Colour TV on limited edition coconut colour 12" vinyl.
Influenced by their friends and surroundings, Colour TV strike an angular and frenetic onstage silhouette. Their songs are catchy, candid, and fiercely memorable. Having met at college they decided to start a band instead of finishing their A Levels.
Their debut singles Charlie and Billy Pilgrim made an instant impact with their fast growing fan base, supports with the likes of Gender Roles, and Steve Lamacq who declared the band to be "my favourite new thing" in November 2021 before confirming the band his Spotlight Artist on his New Music Fix show.
"Is That You" was recorded in spring at Momentum Studios on the outskirts of Plymouth. Its four tracks relate specific incident with analytic attention to detail, characters from life and fiction put under the magnifying glass. "Billy Pilgrim" is a desperate declaration of love. "Charlie" unravels the film reel of a first semester. The pets left behind write "The Book of Her Life". Adolescent crisis is relived "In Your Cathedral". Josiah J Manning is a member of blues rock outfit the Kris Barras Band and has produced material with indie artists including The Native and Plastic Tramps amidst an eclectic discography. His influence on "Is That You" cannot be overstated, imbuing the record with self-assured immediacy and losing nothing of Colour TV's live dynamism.
