    This release features piano music composed for the salon. It was in the salons of Madrid that Albéniz recruited new pupils and performed his latest compositions. Several of the pieces are influenced by Andalusian folk and Spanish guitar music, and come at a time when Spanish composers sought to demonstrate a more nationalistic style.
