  • Description

Sineterra's music is a delicate mix of post-rock and a Mediterranean atmosphere that migrates into Northern European jazz, post-folk and new-wave. All these elements cohabit in the surprising album fadisia, sung in a unique language Luisanna Serra feels at home in - a language the singer invented herself.

Born as Elizabeth Frazer's biggest fan, this tiny Sardinian woman has got an incredibly expressive voice that goes deep into the soul of listeners, leading them to their most inexpressible or hidden feelings.

This unbelievable ensemble was born several years ago in Northern Italy where the guitarist and composer Mario Musetta met Luisanna Serra and they joined other local musicians to play Neapolitan folk music. Mario was born in Napoli and he started off investigating his own musical roots.

Once back in Napoli, he met the Canadian born trumpeter Charles Ferris who added a special blend to the ensemble. Charlie's trumpet work melds perfectly into Luisanna's vocal suggestions creating a singular sound.

After a couple of years doing concerts in and around Napoli, the band got into Agualoca studios to record an album with an added rhythm section hailing from the burgeoning underground Neapolitan music scene and the occasional new sounds of violin, Tunisian flutes, organ and harmonium.

Well-received by the Italian musical press, Fadisia is an astounding album where boundaries are weak and readily broken.
