Description
Mark Latimer is an English classical, jazz and improvising pianist. His repertoire consists of over 75 performed piano concertos, including the mammoth Busoni Concerto for Piano and Chorus. His work as jazz pianist has included major touring, broadcasts and collaborations with diverse artists including Steve Reich and Eduardo Paolozzi. For the last few years Mark has been inactive due to illness. This Double album, White Sun, is both a celebration of his considerable talents and a tribute to his late wife Heulwen Phillips. The album is take from two live performances, album one recorded in St Georges Theatre Bristol with Mario Castonari, bass and Harold Fisher, drums. The second album recorded at the Trondheim Jazz Festival in 2001 featuring Steinar Raknes, bass and Hakon Mjaset Johansen, drums
