Francesco Zampini is a young and talented Italian guitarist and composer making waves across his homeland and beyond. Soaked in the jazz guitar world of past and present masters, Zampini has internalised their playing to such an extent that he offers a new improvisational language. His long phrasing, pauses, pedal action, and obligatos endowed with a consequentiality that is not exactly common, where everything is transcribable and ineffable at the same time.
As the great masters have always said, "if you can make even difficult things look easy, you know your subject matter in depth and have a profound understanding of it." An apt statement on the mastery of Zampini's playing.
Somewhere, Everywhere features Francesco Zampini's own original compositions and one standard - 'I Hear A Rhapsody'. Intuitive support is provided by the young Italian bass player Michelangelo Scandroglio (a rising star in his own right), and renowned American drummer Jeff Ballard.
