These recordings of sax legend Zoot Sims have never been issued before. Recorded in Atlanta in 1981 on a club date, this CD captures Sims on top form, showcasing his easy swinging, Lester Young-influenced tenor playing and also features a rare performance on soprano sax. Backed by a top-notch local rhythm section led by pianist Yancey Korosi, this fine collection of tastefully played standards is a great example of Zoot Sims' beautiful tone and melodic invention, never putting a note wrong when soloing. -
