Description
Teenage Crush brings together those teen ballads from The Golden Age of American Rock'n'Roll that some would deem too wimp to be included in a compilation purporting to be rock'n'roll. Although they may not be rock'n'roll, they were omnipresent throughout this era and are a part of the fabric of the period. For those of us there at the time some of these became essential items for creating the right romantic atmosphere that might produce results. Classics like Close To Cathy and The Way You Look Tonight really worked, and if they didn't it most certainly wasn't their fault! Others were just great songs, such as You Don't Know What You've Got and It's Only Make Believe that even the rockers had to agree stood alongside the best in rock'n'roll. With a dash of morbid death songs Teen Angel and Tell Laura I Love Her and a peek at the unattainable mature woman in Cry Me A River you have a full dose of boyhood teenage angst distilled into one compelling CD.
