(JASCD968), which not only delivered strong sales but also a considerable amount of positive press and radio attention comes "Gulf Coast Girls". This time the attention is on the female singers who also contributed strongly to the genre during its heyday.
With its blend of Cajun music and the lilting lazy feel of New Orleans R&B as exemplified by many of Fats Domino's hits. This music was popular in Louisiana and Texas and their neighbouring states and for a brief period encompassed by this compilation became a pop phenomenon breaking out into the American pop charts.
