Description
Two of Denmark's leading instrumentalists, Ulla Miilmann (flute) and Tine Rehling (harp), join forces to present a superb collection of late romantic and impressionist works by some of the foremost composers of France in the late 19th and early 20th centuries including Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saens, Ibert, Fauré and Poulenc.
Flautist Ulla Miilmann was born in 1972 in Denmark. She received her Bachelor of Music degree at North Carolina School of the Arts in 1992. She has been a prize winner in several Competitions, including the prestigious "Flute-Talk" in Chicago, and the Danish All Music Competition. In 1994, at the age of 22, she became Principal Flute of the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. She received a Grammy Nomination in 2007 in the Category "Best Instrumental Soloist Performance with Orchestra" for her recording of the Ole Schmidt Concerto for flute and orchestra.
Tine Rehling studied the harp from the age of nine with Inga Graae, and later at the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Sonja Gislinge. After studying under Susann McDonald in USA, she graduated in the soloist class in 1993. She has become particularly associated with the music of Per Nørgård, with whom she has regularly collaborated, most notably on the composer's Second Harp Concerto.
Ulla Miilmann and Tine Rehling began their collaboration as a duo in 2007. They have since been dazzling audiences with their pure and elegant interpretation of repertoire with a significant emphasis on French music.
