  • Description

Formed in 2015 as a project of experienced, devoted musicians from German bands in the Black Forest region, THRON 's initial goals were to play authentic black/death in the spirit of the early to mid '90s. Although born in Germany, THRON could originate from a Nordic country though : heavily influenced by bands like Dissection, Unanimated, Sacramentum and Mercyful Fate among others, the band creates a blazing symbiosis of icy melodies, harshness and a haunting atmosphere. In January 2017, THRON released their self titled debut album via Clavis Secretorvm records which gathered a roaring response worldwide vigorously spreading the name across the globe, Metal-Temple.com described the band 's sound as < A sound which evokes the hottest fires of hell and also atmospheres of freezing cold > . Sea of Tranquillity.com enthusiastically summed it up : < Thron seem to have a bright or shall we say 'dark' future ahead of them, very solid stuff for any fan of blackened death metal ! ' The band comments on new album 'Abysmal' :"While the debut album was a loose collection of songs that were created over the course of two years and without a thematic context, the new album shows a lot more coherence. The songs were written within a short period with a clear musical and lyrical vision. The production is rawer and clearer at the same time."THRON's 'Abysmal' was recorded,Mixed and Mastered by Patrick Hagmann at Black Halo Studios Rheinfelden. The Cover Artwork by Santiago Caruso, Layout by Alexander Kovats.
