Description
Big Beat kicks off a projected series of 7-inch vinyl to excite even the most hardened collector of 60s garage rock. We've got a bevy of exciting two-siders in the pipeline, all showcasing killers that are either unavailable on vinyl or so rare you need a second mortgage to even think about owning them. The small but perfectly formed discography of the mighty Zakary Thaks contains some of the most sought-after discs in garagedom. The Corpus Christi, Texas quintet remains amongst the most beloved of all 60s garage bands. This very special addition to their catalogue delivers two unknown, unreported and unbelievable gems. The 1966-era monster 'She's Got You' is as good as anything they ever released at the time. Here is it backed with a noisy ad for Gulf Coast tipple Jax Beer, set to the tune of the group's classic 'Face To Face'. By Alec Palao
