Description
The Box Tops four albums, recorded between 1967 and 1969 for Bell Records, plus bonus tracks.
Featuring the pragmatic 16 year old singer Alex Chilton, The Box Tops had a worldwide hit with 'The Letter'. 'Neon Rainbow', 'Cry Like A Baby' and 'Soul Deep' enjoyed similar success.
By early 1970 the band, disillusioned by their lack of financial success, split. Alex Chilton went on to form Big Star, enjoying critical acclaim.
Though there were periodic Box Tops reunions, these ended with Chilton's premature death in 2010.
Digitally remastered and slipcased.
Extensive new notes.
