This CD brings together three of the most popular chamber works by Mozart; the two melodic 'Piano Quartets' are delightfully offset by the carefree ebullience of Benny Goodman's interpretation of the 'Clarinet Quintet'. The recordings features on this disc were, incidentally, the first recordings Szell made in the United States, just before he assumed the directorship of the Cleveland Orchestra. It is interesting to have Szell featured as an instrumental artist, rather than as a conductor.
