Description
Walking Along With profiles one of the most versatile groups of the '50s The Solitaires. The first CD appearance for the group, it showcases the New York Sound of these Old Town recording stars on I Wonder Why, Walking Along, Blue Valentine, Chances I've Taken and 23 other great sides. During their time with Old Town (1954-62), The Solitaires were a singles only band (albums of the band didn't appear until later) and their personnel changed constantly, giving each of their releases a fresh, immediate edge, devoid of the posturing that long play recordings often induced in rock'n'roll acts. As Bob Hyde's sleeve notes attest: "One play-through will tell you more than any notes we could write-.-just listen and enjoy one of the finest vocal groups from the golden age of pop music."
