Description
Solas are a youngish but now well-established quintet ("The best Irish traditional band in the world", according to the Boston Herald) with members from Kilkenny, Tipperary and New York, founded by multi-instrumentalist Seamus Egan, who was born in Philadelphia but raised for a time in County Mayo. Their recordings have extended the boundaries of Celtic music with each succeeding album. ANOTHER DAY takes a more acoustic direction than their previous albums, with a hearty dose of the great traditional material beloved by their core fans. Also notable are their moving interpretations of Dan Fogelberg's "Scarecrow" and compositions by Irish and Scottish songwriters Kieran Goss and Dougie McLean. Bela Fleck is a special guest on two tracks on the album.
Also available: SOLAS (SHANCD78002), SUNNY SPELLS & SCATTERED SHOWERS (SHANCD78010), THE WORDS THAT REMAIN (SHANCD78023), THE HOUR BEFORE DAWN (SHANCD78041), THE EDGE OF SILENCE (SHANCD78046).
