  • Description

"Acclaimed Swedish artist Sarah Klang takes an expansive exploration through womanhood in all of its complicated beauty on her album Beautiful Woman. Throughout her career, Klang has been a DIY artist, recording at home in Sweden. Beautiful Woman marks a bold change in direction for the musician who went out to L.A. for the first time to record the album with the Grammy-nominated, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats, Bonny Light Horseman).

The experience also saw Klang switch - for the first time - to a live recording style in the studio with an extraordinary team of musicians curated and handpicked for their roles including; Josh Adams on drums (Cat Power, Beck, Wild Nothing), Josh Mease on bass (The Weeknd, Fruit Bats), and live room mixing by Jarvis Taveniere (Avalanches, Whitney, King Gizzard). The album is mastered by Heba Kabry, the studio mastermind behind seminal recordings by the likes Big Thief, Bjork, Future Islands, Mdou Moctar, Cat Le Bon, Animal Collective and more. Klang has always had a talent for autobiographical songwriting, like on her acclaimed debut Love in The Milky Way (2018), which won Best Album at the Swedish Grammis awards. This continued on Creamy Blue (2019), her second album that earned another nomination for 'Best Album' and 'Best Alternative Pop' at the Grammis awards, and another nod for 'European Album of The Year' at the IMPALA Awards. While her sound had previously touched upon a mix of influences ('60 and '70s pop, Americana, an undercurrent of country), 2021's acclaimed album VIRGO broadened her scope to include elements of '80s synth-pop (again winning a Grammis for 'Best Alternative Pop').

2023's Mercedes earned Sarah yet another Grammis nomination for 'Best Pop Album of the Year', and received praise from Under the Radar, Wonderland, The Line of Best Fit, The Sunday Times, Atwood, Noctis, The LUNA Collective and more."
