Southwest Louisiana when he was only six years old and is now the patriarch of an extended family of Zydeco musicians that includes his two sons, Chubby and Troy (a.k.a. Dikki Du). The bridge between Zydeco’s roots and all that it has become today, as a young musician he was greatly influenced by his cousin and mentor, the great Clifton Chenier, and has been called “the only man who can carry on the Clifton Chenier tradition as accurately or as passionately.�
