Description
An album that Ace owns, yet has never previously reissued itself, is the 1962 Crown release "Roosevelt Sykes Sings The Blues". This short but engaging 10 tracker was recorded in Chicago, and it features the legendary "Honey Dripper" in the company of a truly stellar set of Chi Town blues giants, namely Willie Dixon on bass, Jump Jackson on drums and Sax Mallard on - well go on, take a guess. Heaven only knows how this wonderfully relaxed Windy City session ended up on a Hollywood-based budget label, but we should all be glad it did as, nearly 4 ½ decades later, it gives Ace the chance to reissue a seldom heard part of Sykes' highly extensive catalogue (and in stereo, too).
