Restricted Code release their long-awaited debut album Chasing Shadows in November 2025 - The Glasgow post-punk band emerged in 1978 and enjoyed critical success and something of a cult following before splitting up in late 1981 without releasing a full length LP - Since reuniting in recent years, the band are back with a brand new album recorded in 2024/2025 and released via The LNFG Cartel - Chasing Shadows is released on limited edition yellow vinyl, manufactured at Scotland's only pressing plant Seabass Vinyl.
Originally recording and touring in the post-punk era, the band was signed to one of the hippest indie labels, Pop:Aural. They also recorded a John Peel session and toured extensively, opening for acts like The Human League and sharing a double-bill UK-wide tour with label-mates The Fire Engines. Sounds music paper claimed they delivered the "Best gig of 1981", they received rave reviews and coverage in magazines including NME, The Face and Melody Maker. One memorable gig in London saw a who's who of musical faces in the audience including Debbie Harry, John Peel, Julian Cope and the Sex Pistols.
