Description
Lusafrica re-release POLO MONTAÑEZ's two original albums "Guajiro Natural" and "Guitarra Mia" gathered in a 2CD jewel-box set. This new release is a great oportunity to listen again to the repertoire of this great Cuban artist who died prematurely in 2002.
It includes of course Polo's masterpiece "Un Montón De Estrellas" (more than 15 millions streams on Spotify), and the original version of "Flor Pálida" that was covered by the US Latin star Marc Anthony on his album "3.0" in 2013 (316 million of views of his video on YouTube).
This reissue coincides with the release of a remixed version by Mo Laudi of "Un Montón De Estrellas" to appear on the Lusafrica 30th Anniversary Album.
Some musicians seem born to fuse the mind and body of a people. Sometimes, they die too young. Then their songs follows those who survive them with an inconsolable pleasure. Fernando Borrego Linares, aka Polo Montañez (Polo of the Mountains), died after a night road accident in November 2002. His first album Guajiro Natural (Natural Peasant) was released in 2000 and his second Guitarra Mia (You My Guitar) in 2002.
