Description
30th ANNIVERSARY PICTURE DISC RELEASE OF THE CLASSIC 1987 ALBUM OF INFLUENTIAL DOOM FROM THE US HEAVY METAL LEGENDS
Starting life in the early 1970s, US band Pentagram are one of the most enduring and influential underground bands in Heavy Metal history. Influenced by British bands The Groundhogs & Black Sabbath, their own unique take on Doom Metal has subsequently influenced everyone from Paradise Lost to Cathedral.
Peaceville signed the band in the early 1990's and released the 3 classic albums; 'Relentless', 'Day Of Reckoning' & 'Be Forewarned'. 'Day Of Reckoning' is regarded by many fans and critics as these progenitors of Doom's finest hour, & a more than worthy follow-up to the also widely revered 'Relentless' album, with the legendary riffs of Victor Griffin backing up Bobby Liebling's unmistakable vocal delivery once more.
Pentagram recently reunited with Peaceville for the 2015 opus 'Curious Volume', with their popularity and cult status further cemented in metal history upon release.
"If producing top quality doom records was an Olympic sport, Pentagram would be weighed down by gold medals." Kerrang!
This edition of 'Day of Reckoning' marks 30 years since its original release, and is presented on limited picture disc vinyl featuring the exquisite original 'Mausoleum' cover artwork, with cut-out sleeve.
