'Nick's mastery of songwriting and playing are as evident here as going back over the years to the Tea Set' Sean O'Hagan, High Llamas. Dimple Discs is pleased to announce its first full release from the legendary singer songwriter, Nick Haeffner. Nick was previously on the legendary psych label Bam Caruso where he released an LP that the Guardian said on its reissue was better than The Beatles Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. For fans of The High Llamas and Kevin Ayers plus readers of Shindig. He has been described by Alan Moore (Watchman, From Hell) as 'one of the country's most wonderful secret voices'. Jason Falkner member of the bands Jellyfish, the Three O'Clock, and the Grays and has worked with Air, Beck, and Paul McCartney is also a fan finding the music "so inventive. A really fun listen...the sonics are other worldly and the production is fantastic." The LP has a sparkling mix by legendary producer/engineer Paul Tipler (Stereolab, Placebo, Julian Cope, Undertones). Expertly mastered by Anthony Chapman of Collapsed Lung and cut to get maximum clarity and volume. The tracks feature Marcus Holdaway of The High Llamas, Canadian jazz singer Chris Cummings (Marker Starling), the legend that is Clive Pig and Madrid based multi-instrumentalist Yani Martinelli. Percussion is by Jim Wallis (Modern Nature). Nick Haeffner's music is an eclectic, mix of indie pop, folk, psychedelia, prog, chamber pop and world music with the odd bit of dub thrown in. It's the sound of quirky lyrics set to ear worm melodies over crafty chord chord changes, toe tapping rhythms and trippy atmospherics.
