Description
Down The Road is the first-ever live release from Texas pianist/singer Marcia Ball. In over 30 years as a solo artist, Marcia has built a huge, dedicated following with a series of critically acclaimed and increasingly successful releases. Even more important to her many fans, though, is Marcia's love of playing her soul-satisfying blend of raucous roadhouse boogie, New Orleans R&B and intimate ballads in front of an ecstatic audience.
Marcia has played thousands of such shows since the '70s and Down The Road is the long-awaited opportunity for her fans to take home the rollicking good times and heartfelt passion of a Marcia Ball show. It is a marvelously boisterous performance from 2004, backed by her road-tested touring band.
The disc features a fan's dream set list of Marcia originals from throughout her career ("Eugene", "La Ti Da", "Big Shot", "Louella") as well as her defining versions of classics like "Red Beans" and "Louisiana 1927".
