Maranna McCloskey is from Dungiven, Co.Derry and began her singing career with the internationally popular group, Oige. In that group, she replaced the popular Cara Dillon, drawing enthusiastic reviews for her work. Following her membership with Oige she travelled to Australia.

On a visit to Fraser Island, she was moved to compose a song based on the aboriginal history of the island which was named Vocal Cut of the Year 2003 in Irish American News 'Top Tir' awards, one year after scooping Best Female Newcomer. At Last, has just received one of Irish music's most prestigious awards, garnering the top honour on LiveIreland.com as Vocal Album of the Year.

In 2006 Maranna was invited to perform at a St. Patrick's Day concert in San Diego with The Brian Baynes Band, Eric Rigler and The San Diego Symphony Orchestra – one of the leading orchestras in the US. Producer Brian Baynes was so impressed with Maranna's repertoire of original and traditional material that they decided to record her new album, At Last in San Diego.
