  • Description

Original Scandinavian Death Metal masters Konkhra will blow everyone away with "Sad Plight of Lucifer"! Mixed by Tue Madsen!
Konkhra's new album, Sad Plight of Lucifer, delivers their classic Scandinavian Death Metal sound with fresh intensity. Mixed by Tue Madsen, the album marks
the band's return to their roots, offering a powerful continuation of their legacy.
Formed in 1989 Konkhra was part of the Extreme metal upstart in Scandinavia, first releasing the demos "Vicious Circle" ('90) and "Malgrowth" (92).
Shortly after the debut album SAD (93) was released both by Diehard and Nuclear Blast. The subsequent tours saw the band with Suffocation in Europe
and Meatlocker in the USA. The gamechanging album "Spit or swallow" was out in 1995, and the tours included stints with Deicide, Cannibal Corpse,
Immolation, festival appearances and hosting the MTV Headbangers Ball (introducing Rammstein!). In 1997 the band included Chris Kontos and James
Murphy in their lineup for the release of "Weed out the Weak", this time headlining tours in Europe, and making festival shows during the summer. 1999
"Come down cold" was unleashed on the unsuspecting world and the longest tour in the band career pairing up with Napalm Death followed. 2003 the
album "Reality Check" was out in the reformed lineup from the Spit days and debuts were made with tour in Israel and South Africa as well as headlining runs
in Europe. After some trouble with health and a period of restitution the band announced the album "Nothing is Sacred" for release in 2009. Difficulty touring
and an unstable lineup saw the band once again reforming in the classic lineup for a tour with Behemoth in South Africa, a one off with Volbeat in front
of 37000 people and a show at Copenhell before the Alpha and the Omega album in 2019 in collaboration with Hammerheart. This album made Meral
Hammers "top ten danish bands" alongside Volbeat, Mercyful Fate and others. In the meantime a christian Cult accused the band of stealing $ 500.000 from
a YouTube account! The tours included a host of headlining shows as well tours with Batushka and Malevolent Creation. The collaboration with Hammerheart
has spawned reissues of some of the classic albums with more to come. Now its time for the new album Sad Plight of Lucifer.
