Description
Dutch Blues Band King MO made quite an entrance in the bluesscene. They started touring in april 2009 and within 25 months they have recorded 3 CD’s, of which the debut CD ‘Live at la Bonbonnière’ and their second album ‘Sweet Devil’ were both voted best international blues CD of the year in Holland.
In those 25 months the band played international festivals such as Ribs & Blues (Raalte, NL) and on stages such as BB King’s Blues Club (Memphis, TN). They received the Dutch Blues Awards for best album 2010 and Sjors Nederlof for best guitarist.
Sjors was also the guitarist with the Strikes, a band that toured the international blues festivals in the mid ‘00’s. Together with King MO’s bassplayer Roelof Klijn. Singer Phil Bee toured, played and recorded with the likes of Noel Redding, Jan Akkerman and Steve Lukather and is now at his 11th album. 5 of those he recorded with Hammond C3 player Colly Franssen. Drummer Henk Punter toured the globe with the likes of Lazy Lester and Memo Gonzales to name a few. These guys know their way around the business so know exactly what they want. Cut a good record with mainly original material that reflects all their talents and enthusiasm.
The band recorded their long expected first studio CD in December 2010. 7 brand new songs and 2 covers. The result is amazing. From a straight forward shuffle to Hendrixian riffs and ballads that that’ll make an iceberg melt. Impossible to say what other band they sound like, it’s just King MO, outstanding skills for both writing and performing. It’s about time the word and music is spread outside of Holland.
