  • Description

At the age of 44 Kenny Baker was at his creative peak when he recorded A BAKER'S DOZEN in 1970. He had had years to absorb and synthesize a broad spectrum of musical styles. Everything from Jazz to Texas Swing to Old-Time Appalacian music can be heard in Baker's fiddling. As one of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys for some 18 years, Kenny helped define Bluegrass fiddle. Available only on vinyl and cassette until now, this recording has been remastered and repackaged with new liner notes and song commentary by Baker's friend and Nashville writer, Chris Skinker. Originally released in the USA in June 1971, the reissue reminds us that Kenny Baker was and still is, in the words of Bill Monroe, "the greatest fiddler in Bluegrass".
