This "garage band" from Topeka released their debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for Don Kirshner, and have gone on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide. The band is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, keyboardist/vocalist Tom Brislin, guitarist Zak Rizvi, and original guitarist Richard Williams. With no signs of slowing down, KANSAS continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.The summer of 2020 marks the release of "The Absence of Presence," KANSAS's sixteenth studio album. This is the first live album since 2009 for the band that has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, and is famous for classic hits such as â€˜Carry On Wayward Sonâ€™ and â€˜Dust in the Wind,â€™ to progressive epics like â€˜Miracles Out of Nowhere.â€™ â€˜Leftoverture Live & Beyond,â€™ produced by Jeff Glixman, features nineteen songs selected from twelve shows recorded during KANSASâ€™s Spring 2017 Leftoverture 40th Anniversary Tour. The set list includes classic hits, deep cuts, new songs from 2016â€™s studio album â€˜The Prelude Implicit,â€™ and culminates with the bandâ€™s sextuple-platinum breakthrough album, â€˜Leftoverture,â€™ performed in its entirety. Coinciding with the 40th Anniversary of â€˜Leftoverture,â€™ and the release of â€˜The Prelude Implicit,â€™ KANSAS embarked on their biggest headlining tour in decades. The overwhelming success of that tour led the band, along with Inside Out Music, to release selected songs from the tour as a live album.
