Debut album 'd'Anam Alainn', from Irish singer-songwriter Jo Chedgey, is a simple & evocative weaving of "Songs from the Heart, to touch your Soul" Translated from the Gaelic as 'Your Beautiful Soul', 'D'Anam Alainn' is an extraordinary journey of 11 songs to help remind you of 'Your Beautiful Soul'. The journey begins with the moody sea, then travels through the land of angels, ancient wisdom and romance, to find rest in tenderness. Jo Chedgey, now lives in Brighton, but grew up just outside a small fishing village in Co. Waterford, S. Ireland, and drew on her love of the Irish language to perform the title track in Gaelic. All songs are written by Jo, with the exception of a special cover of Van Morrison's 'Moondance'. Jo's evocative voice is accompanied by acoustic guitar, whistle or bodhran (Irish drum) or at times it is simply just voice. -
