Description
H.E. Erwin Walther (1920â1995) was a composer, pianist and passionate teacher. He brought contemporary music to generations of students. As a musician a cosmopolitan, he always remained loyal to his hometown Amberg, which is now honoring him on the occasion of his 100th birthday with the edition "Walther and the Next Generation".
Two young composers, also from Amberg, received composition commissions: "Farbwolken" by Katrin Klose (* 1990) and the "Kammersymphonie 'into the uncertain'" by Christof Johannes Weiss (* 1986) were recorded by the Munich ensemble der/gelbe/klang under the direction of Armando Merino â together with the posthumous world premiere of Walther's "Concerto fur vier Soloblaser und Streichorchester".
