Description
Led by the charismatic singer and guitarist Andrea Gatta, from Emilia Romagna in Norther Italy, Mondo Gattamolesta mixes its usual Balkan rhythms, punk attitude and occasional reggae with Tex-Mex and flamenco styles.
Gattomolesta's instrumentation includes electric and acoustic guitars, bass, accordion and percussion but the Balkan brass band is an important part of their sound and the trumpet, trombone, clarinet and fiddle of guest musicians are a vital ingredient of the music. The lyrics deal with the weighty issues of love, death and the uncertainties of the current financial and political climate and are reproduced in the booklet in English. -
