Description
This new CD by L'Orfeo Ensemble of Spoleto and its musical director Fabrizio Ammetto features seven concertos for two violins and orchestra by Antonio Vivaldi, three of which are presented here in previously unrecorded versions. The soloists are Angelo Cicillini and Luca Venturi.
This recording is the result of long standing research work carried out by acknowledged Vivaldi specialist and member of the international Editorial Committee of the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi (Fondazione Giorgio Cini) in Venice, Fabrizio Ammetto. Several of the concertos featured on the disc are reconstructions made by Ammetto, and are here being recorded for the first time. The English translation of the booklet is by Michael Talbot, one of the world's leading experts on Vivaldi's music
