Description
Tommy Pitfield was a twentieth century Renaissance man. He was a composer, artist, poet, writer, teacher, ornithologist, and probably much else which his modesty shielded from public notice. But it is his music he served most devotedly, as both educator and composer. In his music he shows ingenuity, imagination, inventiveness, wit and versatility. Thanks to the generous assistance of the Pitfield Trust, Heritage presents a disc of Pitfield's piano music, an hitherto unexplored corner of his oeuvre, which features many world premieres. Duncan Honeybourne is an utterly convincing advocate.
