Description
Drivin' n' Cryin' are a critically acclaimed real "rock/folk/alt-country/punk/jam" band from Atlanta, GA. Formed in 1985 in the fertile college rock scene of middle Georgia, they first achieved commercial success in 1991 with the Fly Me Courageous album which went gold, made them brief MTV darlings, and took them onto stages with Neil Young, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They have consistently toured and released albums ever since.
In 2012, they decided to issue a series of four separately themed EPs that would coincide with the release of the acclaimed documentary "Scarred But Smarter," which chronicled the band's colorful history with commentary from R.E.M's Peter Buck and Jason Isbell, among others.
he first EP, Songs Songs from the Laundromat, was released in June of 2012. Grammy Award-winning Paul Ebersold produced the second EP, Songs About Cars, Space and The Ramones released in Oct 2012, while the third, Songs from the Psychedelic Time Clock, was released in April 2013. On tour "off days" the band convened in Nashville and Memphis, TN with Ebersold to work on the fourth, Songs for the Turntable, which was released in 2014 to great reviews.
Due to the success of the EPs, the band decided to release this "best of" compilation of fan favorites from them on limited edition, 180g vinyl.
