Description
The Dramatics were originally formed in 1962 as The Dynamics but became later changed. They scored their first minor hit single, "All Because of You." (No.42 in the Billboard Charts). In 1968 The Dramatics were signed to Stax-Volt Records. The Dramatics later guested on the Snoop Doggy Dogg song, "Doggy Dogg World", which appeared on Snoop's 1993 debut album, Doggystyle. In 2002 The Dramatics appeared on Snoop Dogg's sixth studio album "Paid tha Cost to be tha Boss" on the song "Ballin'" produced by Battlecat. The Dramatics released over 30 albums including "Best of albums", some of them never have been reissued on CD. This album "Anytime, Anyplace." has not been re-released since it’s original vinyl release in 1979. It was common practice in the late ’70s to retool some of the soul greats for the disco era, and this record is a prime example. Definitely a great record to reissue by PTG Records and that’s really part of what this project is all about: finding & reissuing (ultimately) forgettable records from decades ago, and digging out a few gems. -
