Description
Dúa de Pel was formed in Madrid by lyricist Eva Guillamón and musical polymath Sonia Megías as a fusion of poetry, world music, and traditional and contemporary styles. The duo's second album, 'Madera de pájaro', is a journey through different cultures: an itinerary with 13 stops, all united by the sound of the marimba, ethnic percussion and the double bass – instruments in which wood is the fundamental element – as well as polyphonic voices, the most characteristic hallmark of their sound.
The album was conceived during the confinement of the pandemic and breaks free of those restrictions by taking the listener on a musical tour around the globe, drawing on musical and poetic traditions from Scotland, Cuba, Belarus, Zimbabwe, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, Argentina, Algeria, Brazil and the duo's native Spain. This truly is world music, reflecting the duo's passion and respect for different cultures, a passion enhanced by their international performances in places such as Argentina, China, America, the UK and across Europe.
