Description
Singer/guitarist Michael Cooper started the band in Northern California. It included singer Felton C. Pilate II, drummer Louis McCall, bassist/keyboardist/vocalist Cedric Martin, horn man Karl Fuller, keyboardist/vocalist Melvin Carter, and saxophonist Zebulon Paul Harrell. Over the course of 10 years, Con Funk Shun recorded 11 albums with Mercury, with five of them achieving "gold album" status (selling in excess of 500,000 units). They had numerous Top 40 hits including "Chase Me", "Love's Train", "Straight From The Heart", and "Shake & Dance With Me". In 1983 Con Funk Shun teamed up with Kool & The Gang’s producer Eumir Deodato, who produced the album "Fever". Eumir Deodato was a highly-in-demand producer those days…he produced albums for ‘Juicy’, ‘Kleeer’, ‘Dazz Band’, ‘One Way’ and… his own albums for instance. Looking back to the album ‘Fever’, many dance-classics lovers around the world realised this album was much underrated. It became a highly searched album and until today many fans are still looking out for ‘Fever’. -
