  • Description

The Chris Jagger retrospective “All The Best” will now be released via BMG / Absolute on 20th October 2017 and the album will come packaged with a DVD of the ‘I Got The Blues In Austin’ film. “All The Best” is a sixteen track retrospective featuring a brand new track, ‘Avalon Girls’, written ahead of this year’s Glastonbury performance. Chris has picked all the best tracks from his recordings over the past twenty years; there are rockers, duets with Sam Brown and Mick Jagger and some great guitar playing by David Gilmour, Ed Deane and Kit Morgan.

‘I Got The Blues In Austin’ follows Chris Jagger and John Peyton, nationally syndicated radio hosts, as they take blues legend, pianist, Pinetop Perkins to see the Rolling Stones and brother, Mick Jagger backstage at Zilker Park in Austin. Stones’ keyboardist and music director, Chuck Leavell and Pinetop jam backstage. Hubert Sumlin (Howlin' Wolf) remembers playing with the Stones at Madison Square Garden. The legendary Jimmie Vaughan and Chris Jagger talk about their brothers, Stevie Ray and Mick. ‘I Got the Blues in Austin’, with Chris Jagger and John Peyton is a spin-off of their nationally syndicated radio show The Blueseum of Fine Art. The film includes original music by The Rolling Stones. Songs include; ‘I Got the Blues’ from The Rolling Stones' ‘Sticky Fingers’. ‘Turd on the Run’ and ‘Shake Your Hips’ from ‘Exile on Main St.’ and ‘DJ Blues’ with Chris and Mick Jagger

Chris’ career has spanned many fields in the artistic spectrum, from clothes design and theatre to journalism. His first records were made during the 1970’s for David Geffen of Asylum in Los Angeles and he toured the USA and the UK. He revitalized his song writing in the late 1980’s after a long break and contributed to the Stones’ acclaimed albums “Dirty Work” and then later “Steel Wheels.”

Chris decided to then concentrate on his own material and the result was the acclaimed ‘Atcha!’ in 1994, a mix of Cajun style with Chris’s individual brand of songwriting. Contributions came from David Gilmour [Pink Floyd] and Dave Stewart [Eurythmics] on ‘Lhasa Town’, and Leo Sayer. He made four more albums, including ‘The Ridge’ in 2009 a solo effort featuring Danny Thompson on double bass and John Etheridge on guitar, and Concertina Jack in 2013. In all Chris has written and recorded over a hundred titles.
Chris Jagger tours regularly across Europe and the UK with his Acoustic Roots trio, and his band, playing in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, France and Holland and has just returned from Australia and New Zealand. As his output and touring work shows, he is a versatile and creative talent; “All The Best” is a collection that has been carefully selected from across his work and the inclusion of the ‘I Got The Blues In Austin’ film makes this a truly compelling release.
