This first issue in the planned edition of Chengbi An's works spans an arc from solo to orchestral instrumentation, from music composed in 1997 (while he was still a student) to the year 2019.

Born in 1967, the composer Chengbi An studied in Shanghai and Paris (with Gerard Grisey, among others) and now lives in Berlin. His preoccupation with electronics, but also with the phenomena of sound itself, shapes his music, as do extra-musical influences such as techniques from the visual arts.
