With jazz as a language and expression of freedom for all cultures, the singer moves in traditional rhythms such as funana, contradanca, morna or mazurka. Together with her musical partner Theo Pascal, Carmen Souza has been honing an unmistakable sound for more than two decades. Strongly influenced by jazz, a Creole musical language with a distinct Lusophone/Cape Verdean DNA emerges. -
