Description
The second of three instalments in this uniqueLazic-de Vriend-Bergen Philharmonic project.
The concept behind this undertaking, the Mozart Piano Concertos CD trilogy, is to present a range of concertos from Mozart's various compositional and performing periods, styles, techniques and instrumentations. The endeavour is also linked with an encore-like single work on each CD, namely a Rondo. The additional connecting link between these six piano concertos is the Cadenzas & Lead-ins which Lazichas composed himself. Here he was inspired by the common practice of the composer's day.
"I find Lazic and de Vriend's K 449 quite exhilarating and rate it an unmitigated success." - Fanfare
"a record of quite astonishing eloquence." - Classica
Featured on BBC3's Record Review on 9th November: 'There is some lovely phrasing and subtle rubato. This recording has the perfect balance of that slight dryness that you might get from a period orchestra and the more expressive effect that you get with a modern orchestra, they sit right in that sweet spot.'
