From Kitty Hawk to Surf City is a new, special edition of their debut album, featuring four previously unreleased tracks. It's a blend of California sunshine pop with hints of jazz, country and a dollop of Martin Denny. The Bamboo Trading Company is joined by special guest DEAN TORRENCE (of Jan & Dean), who sings lead vocals on three tracks and backing vocals on one track. In addition, "Shrewd Awakening" marks the premiere of Torrence singing with daughters Katie and Jillian Torrence.
Other guest stars include PROBYN GREGORY (Brian Wilson band, Beach Boys 50th tour band), ALAN BOYD (Beach Boys archivist & Grammy Award Winner) and, on the unreleased "Shrew Island Bar & Grill," actor JAMES BEST (Dukes of Hazzard). From Kitty Hawk to Surf City is mixed and engineered by Gary Griffin and mastered by Grammy Award winner MARK LINETT.
Four songs are included from the motion picture Return Of The Killer Shrews, available on DVD Tuesday, October 22 from Retromedia, which features a music video for "Shrewd Awakening" starring James Best and Dean Torrence with his daughters.
