Recorded between 1960 and 1962 in New York and split between orchestral and small group settings, the jazz players providing support are Tyree Glenn (trombone), Chauncey "Lord" Westbrook (guitar), Ray Bryant (piano), Bill Lee (bass), Osie Johnson (drums) and Belton "Sticks" Evans (drums).
