  • Description

Brazilian siren Ana Caram's intoxicating combination of jazz and bossa, effortlessly converge into the mesmerizing masterpiece that is "Blue Bossa". This retrospective musical performance celebrates the lush marriage between Brazilian song and America's "cool jazz", with Ana crafting an atmosphere of inedible wonder - from the sizzling self-titled "Blue Bossa" to the nocturne "Desafinado." Ana also takes on the Sinatra classic, "Fly Me to the Moon" breathing new life into the track with a silky smooth sultry rendition that oozes sophistication. The impeccable arrangement and use of Chesky's state-of-the-art recording technology will transport listeners into a 1960s jazz club with the best seat in the house.

Ana Caram is a Brazilian singer, guitarist, and flutist who sings jazz, samba, and bossa nova music. A protege of Brazilian bossa nova legend Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ana went on to cultivate her own distinctive style and sound within the bossa scene. She regularly tours internationally and has amassed a considerable following from bossa and jazz aficionados. She was signed to Chesky Records in 1989 and has gone on to make eight albums.

Blue Bossa is now getting re-issued as a stunning special limited edition 180g white vinyl LP by Evolution Music Group on the 23rd June 2023.

    Description

Signing to Chesky Records in 1989, Sao Paulo-born Ana Caram soon proved to be one of the audiophile label's most valuable acquisitions. Beginning with her acclaimed debut, Rio After Dark, which featured a cameo by the legendary Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim, she went on to record seven albums for the label, including the highly regarded Blue Bossa, an impeccable 2001 project featuring noted drummer Paulo Braga and saxophonist Paulo Levi. With the album's repertoire consisting of classic Jobim gems (including 'Desafinado' and 'Corcovado') alongside other Brazilian delights (the infectious 'The Telephone Song'), and jazz standards such as 'Fly Me To The Moon,' Caram cemented her role as a top-tier 21st century ambassador for Brazil's timeless bossa nova sound. This title will be available on 180g One Step Pressing LP and SACD Hybrid Stereo.
