Metal / crust / d-beat from Sweden and Canada.

Review: This split LP is definitely the sound of the genre that I needed today... From the cold shores of Sweden - Adrestia. From the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, specifically from Canada - Collapsed. These bands will show you different sides of one genre. Both have unique sound and materials. But that info won't tell you anything, we need to dive deep into both bands and get into all dark corners, so let's begin!

Band #1 - Adrestia. This Swedish trio surprised me a lot. The opening song is "The Ghosts Of Mariupol", it means to me a lot that people don't forget us, and still support Ukraine. The whole side is rough, this music is not for the cowards. Musically this is a well-crafted mix of Swedish death metal and crust... Every drop, every tune of it will blast your mind! The whole atmosphere of this work is deadly heavy, and every instrument sounds fantastically good. The bass has a crunchy and low tone, the guitar sounds like a chainsaw (from that famous movie), and the vocal... it's hard to believe that one small girl could be that angry, that simply wow! You may think that this genre is simple and primitive, but Adrestia is proving that you're wrong. Their music has a lot of layers, there is something in the deep that makes you play these songs again and again...

Band #2 - Collapsed. Hmmm, there is one thing that got my attention, the most significant side of this band is their gloomy sound... Also, every track of this side is charged with punchy energy... this dystopian aggression is phenomenal! The whole studio work was done professionally. Riffs, drums, screams... everything sounds solid and tasty. In comparison with Adrestia, this music has more traditional roots, it's a metal crust, but with dense and low sound. I like that guys used guitar solos here and there, that makes this material more interesting. After listening, you start to realize, the emotions that this music brings you, the emotions that musicians tried to pass you, these small things, they are the most important here...

This split left me full of emotions, this is really great work, and we strongly recommend it to all fans of the genre! Don't forget to play it loud!
